Come Monday May 4, 2015, the Bitcoin community will not be able to buy its favorite digital currency from one of the most loved Bitcoin buying platforms in UK. The Somerset-based Bitcoin buying service Speedy Bitcoin has announced a complete, indefinite suspension of its services citing uncertainties in the crypto-financial markets.

Although the company is yet to make an official announcement, the users were apprised of the situation through emails. One such email was shared by a Reddit user, funkjames.

We are writing to let you know that it is with regret that we are suspending our service indefinitely from Monday, 4th May 2015.

Unfortunately owing to continued uncertainty in the crypto-financial market sector, our banking institution has been unable to continue to provide service to us.

The news has been confirmed by the company as well.

Speedy Bitcoin chose to end its operations as it served. The company decided that it was against the founding principles of their service to continue to render services without complete transparency.

Is this really the end for Speedy Bitcoin?

Thankfully, the company hasn’t bid adieu to the Bitcoin industry forever; the team at Speedy Bitcoin plans to find a suitable replacement of the banking institution to resume its services. If the company is indeed able to find one, all its customers will be notified via emails.

If the online Bitcoin trading platform makes a comeback, it expects to improve the experience for both buyers and sellers.

What about the customers’ accounts?

The company will continue to render services for customers to download their historical transactions made until 4th June, 2015. Customers are advised to retrieve all personal and financial information to avoid any unwanted damage.

Customers with queries or complaints can contact support staff by emailing at support@speedybitcoin.co.uk.
